Bobbie Lorraine Shaffer

Bobbie Lorraine Shaffer, age 91, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Monday, January 27, 2025. Born on September 6, 1933, in Magnolia, WV,  she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Snyder Hendershot.

Mrs. Shaffer was a 1951 graduate of Hyndman High School. She was a homemaker and worked as an in home child care provider for many years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband of 13 years, Robert G. Shaffer whom she married in 2011; a daughter, Dana B. McCurdy of Mercersburg, PA; granddaughter, Kendra Manges (husband Scott) of Chambersburg, PA; four great-grandchildren, Jaren, Izaak, Briella, and Kain; and two sisters, JoAnn Fields of Greencastle, PA and Lois Myers of Hagerstown, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewane “Duck” Buskirk, a brother, David Hendershot, and a sister, Onalee Hendershot in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Gayle Ruble will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Macedonia Church Cemetery.
