Blaine K. Barnhart, age 90 of Greencastle, PA died at 9:44 A.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born January 5, 1925 in Antrim Township, Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late Roy and Martha (Skiles) Barnhart. He married Doris J. “Dorie” (Myers) Barnhart on September 28, 1946 in Hagerstown. She died on January 13, 2012.

Blaine had a lifelong career as a plant manager and mechanic in the garment manufacturing industry and later in life he did clothing tailoring out of his home. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre.

Blaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle, life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle and a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

Surviving family are one daughter Cindy Oberholzer and husband Greg of Greencastle, two sons, Douglas Barnhart and wife Valerie of Greencastle, Timothy Barnhart and wife Kim of Chambersburg, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters Florence Erhart, Helen Musselman, Mildred Barnhart, Anna  Strausner Moser, two brothers Wayne Barnhart and Roy Barnhart Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April; 29 at 1:00 P.M.  from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Stacy Crawford officiating. Burial with military honors by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the First United Methodist Church 45 North Washington Street Greencastle, PA 17225.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.zimmermanfh.com.
