Beulah Elizabeth (Elliott) Martin, 97, a resident of Penn Hall Nursing Center, Chambersburg, PA. and formerly of Duncan Ave., Chambersburg went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2009.

Born January 22, 1912 in Welsh Run, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jacob Melvin and Martha Elizabeth (Divelbiss) Elliott.

Mrs. Martin was the loving wife of C. Lester Martin who died in l985. They were married in Welsh Run on June 4, 1931.

Mrs. Martin was a long time member of St. John''s United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School and was active with the clothing drive. Since living at Penn Hall, she was a member of the Chapel there.

A homemaker all her life, she worked seasonal work for the Hershey Company, H.J. Heinz and Knouse Foods. She worked at Corning Glass, Greencastle from which she retired. Beulah was a life member of the Amaranth Eastern Star of Chambersburg.

Mrs. Martin was a loving and kind friend to all who knew her and was gifted at writing notes to anyone who needed an encouraging word. She loved the Lord, her family, flowers, birds and anyone she knew.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters. C. Lester Martin (husband of Laura) of Willow Hill; Donnie L. Martin, (husband of Patti) of Mercersburg and Nathaniel E. Martin (husband of Martha) of Glen Rock, Jackalen E. Spahr of Shippensburg and Alma K. Barnhart (wife of Larry) of Mechanicsburg, eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. She is the last of her immediate family. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a grandson, Louie Dean Martin, two grand daughters, Dixie Lea Martin and Melody Ann Spahr, seven brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday November 13 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Chaplain Robert Keener officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care And Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, Pa. 17202 or to Penn Hall Benevolent Fund 1425 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
