Betty Lou (Shultz) Norris, age 79 of Shady Grove, PA went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at 11:22 P.M. on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Born, December 1, 1930 in Lincoln Twp., Huntingdon County, PA she was the daughter of the late William H. and M. Catherine (Stone) Shultz.
She and her husband, John M. Norris were married on May 31, 1947 in Lincoln Twp., Huntingdon County, PA. He died on May 27, 1979.
Mrs. Norris was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Kings Children Sunday School Class. She enjoyed baking, working outside, traveling and spending time with her family.
She retired in 2002 from Anvil/Beck Manufacturing in Greencastle. She was also employed at the former Austin Hill, Freeman Shoe and Landis Machine Company all of Waynesboro. She attended Huntingdon Area Schools in Huntingdon, PA.
Surviving family are daughter, Linda L. (Wife of Foster "Doc") Junkins of Fort Loudon, PA; two sons, Robert L. (Husband of Denice) Norris of Mercersburg, PA and Duane J. (Husband of Donna) Norris of Norristown, PA; sister, Jeanne Simmons of Orville, OH; brother, William H. Shultz of James Creek, PA; loving companion, Paul W. Smith of Waynesboro, PA; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, twelve step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Brindle, three infant sisters and one infant brother.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. from the State Line United Methodist Church, 287 East Ave., State Line, PA with Pastor Mick Dawes officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
