Betty J. McQuait, age 92, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Williamsport Retirement Village with her granddaughter Jennifer by her side. Born in Greencastle, PA on October 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lillian Burkett Statler.
Mrs. McQuait was a homemaker and had previously worked at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She was a member of First Church of God, now known as Grand Point Church, Chambersburg, PA. Mrs. McQuait enjoyed baking and was well known for her amazing pies.
Betty was cared for by her granddaughter Jennifer Piper, who helped on a daily basis with her care and was dearly loved by her grandmother.
Surviving are four children, Judy Martin of Greencastle, PA, John McQuait (wife Brenda) of Leland, NC Teresa Bockman (husband Chris) of Bluffton, SC, and Mark McQuait (wife Norma) of Manassa, VA; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John McQuait in 2006, and six siblings, Mildred Deshong, Anna Crouse, Peggy Miller, Lawrence Jack Statler, Harry “Tom” Statler and Charles L. Statler,
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, take a moment to feed the birds in your backyard as this brought Betty much enjoyment.
