Bernice Lorraine Walck

Bernice L. Walck, age 97, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Leland of Laurel Run. Born October 21, 1926, she was the daughter of Evelyn Mentzer.

Mrs. Walck was a homemaker most of her adult life. She was a member of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 39 years, was a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Circle, and she was both a boy and girl scout leader in her youth. Mrs. Walck enjoyed spending quality time with her family, taking bus trips, crafting and playing BINGO.

Surviving are two children, Kathleen "Kathy" Sharon Williams (husband Larry) of Greencastle, PA and Timothy Ralph “Tim” Walck (wife Lisa) of Greencastle, PA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pat Hively (husband “Os”). In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, and a daughter, Pamela Jan Stein.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11 AM at Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 and one hour prior to the service at the above church and address. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the above church and address or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
