Barbara A. (Fox) Zeigler

Barbara A. Zeigler, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital and was reunited with her beloved husband, John Dennis “Denny” Zeigler on Friday, September 29, 2023.

Born January 5, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Galen and Mary Elizabeth (Butts) Fox.  She was a graduate of Greencastle Area Senior High School.  Barbara was a loving mother and wife.  She found great joy in cooking, baking, and selflessly giving to her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and when not together, cherished each and every phone call.  She served the Lord and her community by volunteering her passion for cooking at local events.  She was a member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren.

Barbara is survived by two children, Stacy Lynne Umstead and her husband Todd of Etters, PA and Gregory Lynn Zeigler and his wife Kim of Altoona, PA; four grandchildren, Cody Michael Umstead and his wife Hannah, Zachary, Alyssa, and Brayden Zeigler; a great-granddaughter, Lila Traub; and a number of nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Denny, who passed away August 22, 2006 and three brothers, Terry, Phillip, and Ricky Fox.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the Greencastle Church of the Brethren, 36 S. Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA 17225 with Pastor Leon Yoder officiating.  A time of fellowship with the family will follow the service.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greencastle Church of the Brethren at the above address.
