Arville W. Shank, age 76 of 14331 Greenview Dr. Greencastle, Pa. died at 5:43 P.M. Saturday December 1, 2007 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg, Pa. where he was a resident for the past three years.
Born January 15, 1931 in Mount Clinton, Va., he was the son of the late Emmanuel J. and Mae Elizabeth (Frye) Shank.
He worked as a truck driver. Mr. Shank was a member of the Emmanuel Chapel in Smithsburg, Md. He enjoyed being with his family, doing woodworking and listening to music and hymns. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1947 - 1952.
He and his wife, Priscilla M. (Strickler) Shank were married on October 22, 1949 in Charlottesville, Va.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 58 years are:
Four daughters, Alison Siers of Cairo, West Virginia, Elizabeth Fink, of Greencastle, Pa., Julia Smith of Hagerstown, Md. and Cindy Nesselrodt, Weyers Cave, Va.
Two sons, Rodney Shank and Richard Shank, both of Greencastle, Pa.
Four sisters, Reba Poff of Roanoke, Va., Kathleen Spitzer of Harrisonburg, Va., Frances Gochenour of Florida and Pauline Painter, Roanoke, Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one brother Alvin Shank, two sisters, Esther Showalter and Dorothy Cliser and two grandsons, Travis and Caleb Shank.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 5 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Revs. Jonathan Laye and Clyde Connor officiating. Burial will be in the Beautiful View Cemetery near State Line. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Hospice Of The Good Shepherd 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
