Arthur M. Collings Jr., age 81 of 644 South Allison St. Greencastle, Pa. died at 6:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in his home.
Born April 14, 1928 in Collingswood, N.J., he was the son of the late Arthur M. Sr. and Vera (Robb) Collings.
Arthur was employed by the U.S. Dept. Of Agriculture and last worked for the Housing Assistant Council in low cost housing.
He married Jean (Hamer) Collings on January 11, 1958. Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
He was a graduate of Delaware Valley College.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 52 years are two sons, Arthur M. Collings III, Red Hook, N.Y., David H. (Husband of Dawn) Collings, Mercersburg, Pa., one brother Lawrence Collings, Lady Lake, Florida, four grandchildren Sean Collings, Samuel Collings, Margaret Collings and Allison Collings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Foster-Warne Funeral Home in Collingswood, New Jersey. Burial will be in the Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday. Local arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
