Arnold D. Cramer
Arnold D. Cramer, age 88, of Greencastle, PA since 2006 and a resident of the Falling Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg since February 2013, died at 5:05 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in the nursing center.
Born April 9, 1927 in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Arnold W. and Helen (Dongan) Cramer. He was married for 67 years to Constance J. (Holmgren) Cramer.
Arnold was a World War II US Army Air Corp veteran, having served with the 902nd Aviation Engineer Battalion in Germany. He was a 1945 graduate of Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ and a 1949 graduate of Nichols College in Dudley, MA
In retirement he enjoyed reading military history books and building models of historic ships. Arnold was a life member of the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599.
Surviving family in addition to his wife Constance are daughter Susan B. Rotondo and husband Nick Rotondo of Greencastle, son Carl R. Cramer and wife Ariana Langham Cramer of Greencastle, daughter Caren L. Cramer and husband Alan Kerr of Rohresville, MD, three grandchildren, Amanda L. Kerr, Evan J. Kerr, Sarah C. Kenney, one step-granddaughter Elizabeth Nelson, one great-grandson Corbin Kenney, a nephew James Arnold Wisner and a niece Christine C. Sancin.
There will be a private family ceremony held at their convenience. There will be no viewing. The family is very grateful for all the support, care and acts of kindness provided by the staff and volunteers of Falling Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and 365 Hospice Inc. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library 305 East Baltimore St. Greencastle, PA 17225. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
