Arlene May (Mcclain) Barkdoll Pentz

Arlene May Barkdoll Pentz, age 90, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Quincy Village. Born December 2, 1932, in Sabillasville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Catherine Moser McClain, Sr.

Mrs. Pentz was a 1950 graduate of the former Washington Township High School. She also attended the Waynesboro Business School. She worked in banking for over 30 years, with most of that time spent at the former Citizens National Bank of Greencastle and then retiring in 1994 from the former First National Bank of Greencastle. Mrs. Pentz was currently a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle and previously was a member at Calvary Assembly of God in Waynesboro, PA, where she assisted her second husband, Rev. Croft Pentz with the Senior Adult ministry.   Mrs. Pentz enjoyed golf, puzzles, word searches, Sunday afternoon card games, and bowling.

Surviving are two sons, Brian G. Barkdoll (wife Carranda) of Greencastle, PA and Bradley E. Barkdoll (wife Dodi) of Chambersburg, PA; and two grandsons, Aaron and Derrick Barkdoll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl E. Barkdoll in 1998 and her second husband, Rev. Croft Pentz in 2008 and two brothers, Glenn McClain Jr. and Ray McClain, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Dwan Newsome will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Pentz Mission Fund, c/o Calvary Assembly of God, 116 Snider Ave., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
