Annis E. Sisler, age 104, a resident of the Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport, MD and formerly of Maugansville, MD and Greencastle, PA died at 5:50 P.M. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in the nursing center.
Born, January 31, 1905 in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late S. Harvey and Mary Margaret (Shuman) Eshleman.
Her first husband, Samuel Hollinger died in 1929 and her second husband, John Sisler died in 1981.
She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ of Greencastle, PA. She was employed at the First National Bank of Greencastle for 28 years and also worked at the former Walck Hatchery of Greencastle for 13 years.
She is the last of her immediate family. Surviving family are, a step-granddaughter, Libby Crawmer, a step-great-grandson, Joseph Sisler, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Eshleman, two sisters, Margaret Phillippy and Hazel Eshleman, and an infant son.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle with Rev. Reginald Rice officiating. There will be no public viewing. The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the charity of one''s choice. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.
