Anna Mary Frey

Anna Mary (Meyers) Frey, age 89 of Greencastle, PA and formerly of Mercersburg Rd. Mercersburg, PA passed away Friday evening April 7, 2017 in her home.

Born March 28, 1928 in St. Thomas Twp. Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late B. Franklin and Bertha (Wingert) Meyers. She married Kenneth H. Frey on July 20, 1948. He died on March 19, 2007.

Anna Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Upton Church of the Brethren.  There were many hours of enjoyable pastime that were spent in her designing and stitching quilts. She volunteered with the Bible Release Time Program and she served as a board member of the Church of the Brethren Children’s Aid Society.

Surviving family are one daughter, Marian (wife of Shannon) Negley of Auburn, Maine, two sons, Lynn Frey of Mercersburg, PA and Loren (husband of Sherri) Frey of Hagerstown, MD, eleven grandchildren , twenty-one great-grandchildren  and one brother Aden Meyers of St, Thomas, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Carl Meyers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 12 at 10:00 A.M. at the Upton Church of the Brethren 8490 Warm Spring Rd. Upton, PA with Ministers Dennis Sollenberger, Duane Hawbaker and Marvin Negley officiating. Burial will be in the Meyers Cemetery near Mercersburg.  There will be a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Cumberland Valley Relief Center 4225 Molly Pitcher Hwy South Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
