Mrs. Anna Rebecca Shank Mowen, 94, of State Line, died Wednesday morning, August 22, 2012, at her son''s Greencastle residence. She was the wife of the late Rollo Palmer Mowen, her husband of 72 years who preceded her in death on August 29, 2007.
Born April 3, 1918, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Emma E. Martin Shank.
Mrs. Mowen worked for the Stanley Company, Chambersburg, for 33 years. Additionally she was the caretaker of the State Line Ruritan Building for 20 years.
She was a member of State Line United Methodist Church, State Line, and often attended Calvary Bible Church, Greencastle. She was also a member of AARP.
Mrs. Mowen is survived by her son, Thomas and wife Barbara of Greencastle; and her grandchildren, Jason & Sabrina Mowen.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judith Diane Mowen; and siblings Irvin Shank and Ethel Shank Grove.
The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle, on Tuesday, August 28, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service which will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Her pastor, Rev. Randall H. Zeiler, will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
