Anna R. Martin

Anna R. Martin, age 98 a resident of the Mennonite Home of 13436 Maugansville Rd. Hagerstown, Md. died at 3:30 A.M. Thursday April 2, 2009 in the home.

Born February 13, 1911 in Washington County Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Amos T. and Rhoda Mae (Shank) Showalter.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Paradise Mennonite Church of Hagerstown.
Her husband, Preston E. Martin died May 7, 1978.

Surviving family are a daughter Gail L. Diller, Hagerstown, Md., son, Wayne E. Martin, Washington Court House, Ohio, two brothers, Adin Showalter, Greencastle, Pa., Glenn Showalter, Marion, Pa., sister, Mabel Martin, Hagerstown, Md., nine grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by: brothers, Preston Showalter, Paul Showalter, sisters Naomi Eby, Ethel Lehman, Mary Horst, grandson Eugene Diller and great-granddaughter Corinda Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 4 at 10:00 A.M. from the Paradise Mennonite Church on Air View Rd. Hagerstown with the Paradise Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church this evening from 7- 9 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
