Andrew Calvin "Andy" Grosh
Mr. Andrew Calvin "Andy" Grosh, 90, of Waynesboro, died Wednesday afternoon, June 5, 2013, at Waynesboro Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alice Virginia Berger Grosh who died on January 13, 1995.
Born August 27, 1922, in Quincy Township, he was the son of the late Elmer W. and Zella V. Helm Grosh; and was a United States Army Veteran who served during World War II.
Andy was manager for Joe The Motorist in Frederick and Waynesboro, for many years; and later for Waynesboro Builders Supply. He was also a gentleman farmer.
Andy was an active and faithful member of Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church, Waynesboro.
Surviving are his daughters, M. Joanne Moats and husband Bruce of Waynesboro, and Lisa A. Long of Frederick; six grandchildren, Ty Ellen Matthews of Florida, Laura J. Drent and husband Mike of Mercersburg, Michelle D. Bloyer and husband Mark of Williamsport, Deborah K. Oberholzer and husband Wendel of Greencastle, Gregory L. Moats and wife Geri of Waynesboro, and Alexa B. Smith of Frederick; as well as 10 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren his sisters Vivian I. Cordell and Dorothy M. Lenharr, both of Greencastle and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, Andy was preceded in death by brothers William L. and Owen E. "Jake" Grosh.
The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be visiting at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 11, at 1:30 PM, from his church, Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church, Waynesboro. Mr. William E. Shilling, church deacon, will officiate. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Grosh''s name to the Building Fund of Hollowell Brethren In Christ Church, 14807 Hollowell Church Road, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania 17268.
