Alta Ruth Keefer

Alta Ruth Keefer, age 91, a resident of Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville, PA, and formerly of Mercersburg, PA,  passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Born April 1, 1928, in Little Cove, PA,  she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Russell and Nancy C. Keefer.

A seamstress, Ms. Keefer worked at the former Mercersburg Shirt Factory, Shippensburg Shirt Factory, Greencastle Shoe Factory, Hagerstown Shoe Factory, and last at the Greencastle Dress Factory, where she retired.  She had served as secretary of the Warren Township Burial Association. Ms. Keefer was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Little Cove.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Shives and four brothers, Grant R., Solomon B., Clarence L., and Melvin L. Keefer.
