Albert R. “Moe” Flenner
Albert Reid “Moe” Flenner, age 76 of State Line, PA died Wednesday evening September 17, 2014 in the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born November 17, 1937 in Granville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Edna M. (Cherry) Flenner. He married M. Jane (Norris) Flenner on August 31, 1958 in James Creek, PA
Albert was employed as a machinist at Mack Trucks (now Volvo Powertrain) of Hagerstown from 1962 until 2000 when he retired. Following retirement, he assisted in giving tours of the Mack Truck plant.
Mr. Flenner was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard, hunting and watching football.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son Stanley R. and his wife Eileen (Crider) Flenner of State Line, one daughter, Sherry D. and husband Gary Rhoe of State Line, eight grandchildren, Gail M. Young, Melanie A. Ott, Aaron R. Hykes, Justin A. Hykes, Hunter L. Rhoe, Hayden L. Rhoe, James P. Rhoe, Kelly A. Rhoe, two great-grandchildren, Alexis R. Hykes, Jocelyn M. Ott, two brothers, Glenn A. Flenner and Ronald L. Flenner, both of Landisburg, PA and one sister Ethel A. Bowden of Pocomoke City, MD.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday September 22 at 10:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Revs. Randy Zeiler and Ky Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Browns Mill Cemetery Kauffman, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Improvement Fund of State Line United Methodist Church P.O. Box 277 State Line, PA 17263.
