Albert D. Bowders

Albert D. Bowders, age 87 of  Molly Pitcher Hwy. Chambersburg, PA died at 5:20 PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born December 22, 1929 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Merle and Gladys (Wallech) Bowders. He married Hilda R. (Recard)) Bowders on October 25, 1953.

Albert was self-employed as a pipe organ repair and service man. He was a 1948 graduate of Greencastle High School and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951-53. Albert attended  the Trinity United Church of Christ of State Line.

He was a lifetime member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association, life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle and life member of the Rescue Hose Co. #1 of Greencastle. Albert enjoyed hunting fishing and crabbing.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are two sons, Alan D. Bowders and wife Cynthia of Gettysburg, PA, Denis E. Bowders of Chambersburg, one sister Audrey Snowberger of Waynesboro, PA and one aunt Margaret Gelwicks of York, PA

A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 21 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Irene Pouliot officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Thursday. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Beautiful View Cemetery State Line. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Trinity United Church of Christ P.O Box 266 State Line, PA 17263.
