Adera Faye (Myers) Laughlin, age 65 of Williamson Road Greencastle, PA passed way at her home on Thursday morning May 28, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 7, 1949 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of Mary Kathryn (Zuck) Myers of Greencastle and the late Raymond A. “Maney” Myers. She married her husband of nearly 48 years, Robert E. Laughlin Sr. on July 15, 1967 at the Greencastle Church of The Brethren.
She was employed for over thirty years with Giant Foods having worked last as the seafood manager of the Wayne Ave. Chambersburg store. She was a member of the Greencastle Church of The Brethren, member and twice past president of the Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club, member of the local ABWA Chapter and a member of the local Red Hat Society.
Adera was a member of the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club, the Mason Dixon Corvette Club and the British Car Club ( BRRTA). She was a 1967 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, served as a den mother in Cub Scouts and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving family in addition to her husband and mother are a daughter, Tammy Lewis and husband Andrew of Greencastle, one son, Robert E. Laughlin Jr and wife Connie of Chambersburg, four grandchildren David, Mackenzie, Madeleine and Sebastian. one brother Floyd R. Myers and wife Elaine of Bel Air, MD, one sister, Lillian Sharrah and husband Jack of Quincy, PA.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at 11:00 AM from the Greencastle Church of The Brethren 36 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA with Pastor Leon Yoder officiating. Fellowship and meal will directly follow services at the church.
There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Greencastle Church of The Brethren.
