Richard Orville Blair

Richard Orville “Dick” Blair age 78, of Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Greencastle, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Paramount Senior Living. Born October 9, 1944, in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late Omar Clarence and Elsie F. Shives Blair.

Dick was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church in Greencastle, PA, where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and enjoyed attending the men’s prayer breakfast. His other passions involved hunting deer in two hunting clubs in Maryland and West Virginia, helping others, gardening, and camping.

Surviving are three daughters, Lori Ann Houser (John) of Greencastle, Durinda K. Stouffer (Mark) of Newville, PA, and Krista J. Boschert of Greencastle; nine grandchildren, Keri Houser, Aaron “AJ” Houser (Morgan), Dalton Stouffer (Stephanie), Olivia Stouffer, Christopher Boschert (Brittany), Kathryn “Kate” McCulloch (Levi), Bethany, Hope, and Hannah Boschert; five great-grandchildren, Kaeden, Jace, Aiden, Isabella, and Leo; three siblings, John and Irvin Blair and Janet Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Connie E. Blair in 2021, four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 1 PM at Macedonia United Brethren Church, 1887 Worleytown Rd., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor William “Bill” Blair will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 6-8 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA and one hour prior to the service at the above church on Thursday. Interment will follow the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002 or www.als.org.
