Franklin E. Stockslager

Franklin E. Stockslager, age 89, of Greencastle, PA died at Waynesboro Hospital on Sunday, January 28, 2024.  He was born in Greencastle in 1935 and was the son of Ralph and Mildred (Bovey) Stockslager.  He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Lester and Elizabeth (Barnhart) Bovey, who preceded him in death.  Frank attended Greencastle High School, Greencastle, PA.  He and his wife, Pearl E. Stockslager were married on July 10, 1954.  Frank retired from Frick Company of Waynesboro after 42 years of service.  He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Greencastle and had served the church in many capacities.  He was very active in coaching Greencastle little league and pony league baseball teams, an avid hunter, and enjoyed his cabin at Cowans Gap.  Frank enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play many sports.  He was active in various bowling leagues.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, son Gary Stockslager (Carole), Mike Stockslager (Pam) and Tina Thomas (Ben). Two grandchildren, Jenniffer (Andy) Everetts, and Michael F. Stockslager. Two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Grant Everetts.  He was preceded in death by sisters Wilma Jean Wenger and Charlotte Stockslager and brother, Marvin Stockslager.  Services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, February 1, at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA.  Pastor David Rawley will officiate.  Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
